IV v. Watch your Heart

1. How does Swami ask women to 'Watch their Heart' (feelings)?

The wife or the mother must learn the art of having a balanced view of life. She will not be affected by triumphs or troubles, gains or losses, victory or defeat. This balance can only be got by reliance on God and faith in the indwelling God.
Sathya Sai Baba

Once you enter the depths of the sea, it is all calm, it is all peace. Agitation, noise, confusion -- all are only on the outer layers. So also in the innermost recesses of the heart, there is a reservoir of santhi ( peace) where you must take refuge.
Sathya Sai Baba

At a time when someone makes fun of you, or abuses you in harsh words, you should not lose your cool. You should remain peaceful. Instead of becoming angry, you must first search yourself whether there was any mistake from your side. As long as you are on the right path, why should you get agitated. But if you find some mistake in you, you must try and correct yourself, instead of brooding over those harsh words. This kind of peaceful attitude takes you to great heights in life.
Sathya Sai Baba, 24 Feb 1991

You may blow air into a balloon up to its capacity. Until then the air you blow is only confined to the balloon. When you blow further, the balloon bursts and the air mixes with the atmospheric air. In this manner, we must broaden our thoughts and sphere of activity. We must also broaden our love. Only when this love is expended and expanded, we will be able to merge into the ocean of God's Love.
Sathya Sai Baba, 23 Jul 1975

Lack of love makes the heart barren. Only when we supply the manure of love, sow the sapling of love and shower the water of love; the harvest of love is enjoyed. Therefore, we must undertake to distribute this kind of love across the whole world and in all societies.
Sathya Sai Baba, 23 Jul 1975

You should not despair at little things. You must cultivate fortitude, humility and etiquette as a potential housewife. This is what is called general knowledge, or common sense.
Sathya Sai Baba, 30 Jan 1978

Make it a point to be cheerful at all times without resorting to grim faces ('Castor oil faces'). You should always strive to find the inner significance and meaning of what you are dealing with. It is not enough if you do things mechanically.
Sathya Sai Baba, 30 Jan 1978
