Teach them to serve society: Parents should ensure that their children utilise their education to serve the nation. The government may not be able to do much in this regard; it is the responsibility of the parents to guide their children on proper lines. They should encourage the children to work for the progress of the nation. But nowadays, parents do not have such broad-mindedness.

Teach them to use education for the benefit of society: While science and technology may appear, to confer many benefits, they also have many harmful effects. We must have the wisdom and discrimination to make the proper use of scientific knowledge. Students must learn how to use their learning to lead worthy and noble lives. Education must be regarded as a sacred process and a preparation for unselfish service to society.

Teach them to be worthy citizens: Parents should not think that parental responsibilities end with sending the children to school or college. They have a duty to see that the children grow into worthy citizens of the country.

Teach them the real meaning of education: Students! You do not become educated merely by getting degrees. You will be truly educated only when you render service to the people. True education is that which equips one for service and not merely for earning wealth.
